Rattan is a fast-growing palm vine native to Southeast Asia that can regenerate within approximately 5–7 years, depending on species and growing conditions. When responsibly harvested, it can provide a renewable alternative to slower-growing timber while supporting forest preservation.

AIM Crafts uses natural rattan as its primary raw material, sourced primarily from Northern Myanmar through established local supply networks. The raw rattan is transported to our workshop in Yekyi Township, where it undergoes in-house processing, including cleaning, splitting and refining into core rattan and peel strips prepared for weaving.

This hands-on approach gives us greater understanding and control over the material before it enters production, helping us select and prepare rattan according to the requirements of different products and weaving applications.
